Countdown shows
Casey Kasem's American Top 40
Casey hosted American Top 40 from July 1970 to August 1988, counting down the Billboard Hot 100. For any date in those years, the Billboard Hot 100 number one above is a good guide to the show's number one that weekend. Full original shows from 1970 to 1988 still air every weekend as Casey Kasem's American Top 40: The 70s and 80s.

Rick Dees Weekly Top 40
Rick's countdown started in September 1983 and is still on the air. It counts down its own chart, which for years was based on Radio and Records airplay rather than Billboard, so its number one could differ from the Hot 100. Its weekly charts aren't published openly, so this site can't list them, but there are two iHeartRadio stations for it: the current show, and complete countdowns from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s.

About this page
Number ones and chart peaks come from Wikipedia's chart lists and song and album articles, which are written by volunteers from the official charts. They're shared under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, and every result links to the page it came from. A chart's date is the date printed on that week's chart, which for Billboard is usually a few days after the chart was released. Billboard's full weekly charts aren't freely available, so this page shows number ones and peaks rather than every position.
Songs, albums, track lists, 30-second previews and the Popular right now lists come from Apple, looked up straight from your browser. Release dates prefer Wikipedia, because Apple often lists the date of a later reissue or compilation. Spotify, YouTube Music and Amazon links open a search for the song.
